		<description>Ezekiel 8 does not specifically mention the Zadokites, so it could have been the case that he was describing general apostasy without noting the few faithful Zadokites.  If it does implicate the Zadokites, then of course it could be the case that sections of Ezekiel 40-48 were added later, as some have argued.

Do you have any thoughts on the issue of when Ezekiel 40-48 were written?</description>

I never saw much merit in the old idea that Zadok was originally a Jebusite! One question: do you really think Ezekiel thought that the Zadokites were faithful during the monarchic period? Would this stand in some tension with what he sees in chp 8?</description>
