Bibliobloggers at the SBL
I haven’t seen any discussion of this in the biblioblogosphere, so I thought I would get the ball rolling.
Last year, several of us who write Bible-related blogs got together at the annual SBL meeting. We had a good discussion about a number of topics, mostly but not exclusively related to blogging. Chris Brady at Targuman brought his equipment and recorded the session for a podcast.
I am hoping we can get together again this year. I was going to suggest that we get together for lunch on Sunday. This is only a suggestion and I am open to other times, but I thought I would toss it out there to get the discussion going.
If you are a biblioblogger attending the SBL this year and would like to get together, leave a comment and let me know what times work for you. If Sunday lunch isn’t a possibility, I will try to pull together everyone’s input and see if I can find a time that works for the largest number of people.

I’m interested, but my schedule is all over the place — just make sure you post the day/time/location of the meeting and if I can make it, I’ll be there.

I mentioned it on my blog months ago although we never reached a consensus. I have a lunch already lined up for Sunday, but I could change it and in fact, that would be the best time, in my book.
Other ideas?

Oh and I should have added that I will have a spiffy new little hand held stereo recording mic.
We might have to sit a little closer but if we put the pitcher next to the mic in the middle of the table no one will move to far from it.

While I’m not in the official “canon” of Bibliobloggers, I’d sure like to meet those who are and few others who are not. Sunday lunch is good for me.

The list maintained at biblioblogs.com notwithstanding, there is no canonical list of bibliobloggers (although John Hobbins at Ancient Hebrew poetry has done a great job of pulling together an exhausting if not exhaustive list). As far as I am concerned, anyone who considers him or herself a biblioblogger or is just interested in bibioblogging (as a reader or possible writer) is welcome to come to lunch.
