Blogging the Bible: Second Call for Contributors
Three months ago I posted a call for contributors for a new book on blogging the Bible. The working title is Blogging the Bible: Scholars, Scriptures, and New Media, although the legal department at the Washington Post contacted me expressing concern about the name, as they already have a blog by the same name on Slate. I am not entirely sure if a book title can infringe upon the copyright of a blog name, so the name may be subject to change.
In any event, the call for contributors went well. I now have people who have expressed interest or agreed to write the following chapters:
- Blogging as Academic Activity (Kevin A. Wilson)
- From Kitsch to Carnivals: The Wonderful and Weird World of Biblioblogging (Tyler F. Williams)
- Reviews of Current Events (Chris Heard)
- Blogging for Tenure (Christian Brady)
- Beyond the Academy: Blogging for a Popular Audience (Charles Halton)
- Blogging as a New Genre (Tim Bulkeley)
- Blogging towards a PhD (Michael Pahl)
I would still like to have several more essays for the book. I will be contacting a few people to ask them to write specific articles, but I also wanted to put out a second call for contributors for those who might have missed the first (or who read the first and meant to reply but forgot to do so). Right now, we are looking at a deadline sometime around April for the articles. If you would like to contribute, please contact me at kwilson@bluecord.org.

I think the WP may be uppity because they are also planning to publish the blog Blogging the Bible (in their case, the Jewish Bible) as a book. Still, your project sounds interesting
