Blog Carnivals

Steve Cook has done an excellent job setting up the 19th biblical studies blog carnival at Biblische Ausbildung.  Of particular interest to OT studies are several posts prompted by the recent death of Brevard Childs.  For those who are not familiar with Childs’s scholarship, now would be an excellent time to get to know his work.  Since Childs placed such a large emphasis on the role of the canon, it is appropriate that Steve’s carnival includes several links to the discussion of the canon by several bloggers last month.

Many thanks to Steve for his work on this month’s carnival.

Danny Zacharias has the 18th Biblical Studies Blog Carnival up and running at Deinde.  There were several good discussions in the biblioblogosphere in the month of May, such as the question of whether some publishers should automatically be excluded from academic papers and the issue of what to call the Old Testament / Hebrew Bible / Tanakh.  On the latter, anything is fine with me except First Testament.  Blech!

Kudos to Danny for a great carnival!

Christ Heard at Higgaion has this month’s Biblical Studies Blog Carnival up and running.  Since Chris leads towards the Hebrew Bible side of things, the roundup is heavy on OT blogs.  Be sure to check it out!

Tyler Williams of Codex has a very nice article in the SBL Forum on the Biblical Studies Carnival that we hold every month.  If you are new to the biblioblogosphere and would like to get a feel for things, I encourage you to check it out.

It is the first of the month, which means it is time for the Biblical Studies Blog Carnival.  This month, Charles Halton at Awilum brings us highlights of the biblioblogosphere from February.

The blog carnival this month is dedicated to Bruce Metzger, who passed away last month.  Thanks, Charles.  It is a fitting tribute to a great NT scholar.
