This series is an engagement with David Kelsey’s book Proving Doctrine: The Uses of Scripture in Modern Theology. I did some work on this topic with Kelsey when I was in seminary, so I thought it would be interesting to give my readers an overview of this important work. It also gives me a chance to review how my thinking on this topic has changed in the past fifteen years.
